A Romanian Speaks on Average 251 Minutes on His/Her Mobile Telephone, Every Month

The National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) has updated on Veritel.ro – the online application for comparing telecom offers – the values configuring the profile of an occasional, average and intensive mobile telephony and mobile internet user in Romania, based on the most recent statistical data processed by the Authority, for the first half of 2015.
According to the ANCOM data, an average user of mobile telephony and mobile internet configured on Veritel.ro achieves 167 MB mobile internet traffic every month, sends 74 national SMS (64 on-net and 10 off-net) and speaks on average 251 minutes on their mobile handset, both on-net (193 minutes) and off-net (58 minutes).
An occasional user of mobile telephony and mobile internet achieves 56 MB internet traffic per month, sends 24 national SMS (21 on-net and 3 off-net) and talks on average 83 minutes on their mobile handset, both on-net (64 minutes) and off-net (19 minutes).
An intensive user of mobile telephony and mobile internet consumes 501 MB internet traffic per month, sends 222 national SMS messages (192 on-net and 30 off-net) and talks on average 753 minutes both on-net (579 minutes) and off-net (174 minutes).
Compared to the user consumption profile configured for the previous period, one can notice off-net traffic growth on all consumption segments, due to ANCOM’s regulating the maximum value of the mobile call termination tariffs charged by the operators, in conjunction with the mobile operators’ focus on offers with included unlimited or national minutes.
Moreover, - on www.veritel.ro - ANCOM updated the consumption values for occasional, average and intensive fixed telephony users. According to the statistical data consolidated by ANCOM, an average fixed telephony user speaks, every month, 45 minutes on-net and 33 minutes off-net.
These pre-set profiles, relying on the statistical data regarding the consumption of electronic communications services in Romania in the first half of 2015, were introduced on Veritel.ro in order to facilitate the configuration of the searched offer. Veritel.ro users can however configure themselves the average monthly consumption starting from these pre-defined profiles or not, in order to precisely find the most suitable telecom offer, in line with their communication needs.
Veritel.ro provides users the most advantageous fixed and mobile telephony and internet offers in three simple steps: they choose the category of services, insert personal consumption estimates and receive a list of 25 tariff plans, ranked in order of cost. Along with the search results, further relevant details are displayed, such as the minimum contract duration, termination penalties, or information on the available special offers.
Veritel.ro is an independent and non-commercial tool developed by the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications to the benefit of the telecom users in Romania. Access to this application is free of charge and is not constrained in any way, the users having instant access to all the public offers of all the communications operators in Romania.
