Code of Conduct

The National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) adopted the Code of Conduct regulating the use of internal national short numbers and SMS/MMS short codes used for games, contests and various services offered by means of mobile telephones.

The Code applies to providers of public electronic communications networks and to providers of Premium Rate services, stipulating - among other - additional user protection measures, in order to avoid abuse or fraud associated to accessing Premium Rate services.

The Authority adopted the Code of Conduct by Decision no. 1131/2014 on the adoption of the Code of Conduct regarding the use of internal national short numbers and SMS/MMS short codes, following public consultation.Â
