“The value of the Romanian telecom sector grew slightly in 2018, by 1%, amounting to 16 billion lei in terms of revenues obtained by the providers and holding 1.7% share in Romania’s GDP. Thus, on Communications Day, we may say that Romania benefits from a healthy, competitive telecom market, which registers growing revenues every year and absorbs the global trends when it comes to the implementation of the newest technologies ”,Mr. Sorin Grindeanu, the president of ANCOM, said.

Revenues obtained from electronic communications networks and services
According to the data reported to ANCOM by the providers active on the Romanian electronic communications market, the total revenues obtained from the provision of electronic communications networks and services amounted to 16.1 billion lei, up by 1.3%.
