ANCOM conducts market studies and analyses, elaborates methodologies, models and principles for the regulation of communications markets, thus creating the basis for the issued decisions.

 
Generally, the information required for conducting market studies and analyses may be obtained by investigating statistical data and by direct research methods (collecting information directly from the end-users and from the electronic communications networks and services) result from the quarterly reports of the providers of electronic communications networks and services, through simulation of market phenomena.
 
The half-yearly reports of the providers of electronic communications networks and services are an important source of information on a series of relevant indicators in the sector.
 
The status of a provider of electronic communications networks or services entails the respective company’s agreement on reporting a series of parameters and statistical data to ANCOM.
 
Decision no. 333/2013 on reporting statistical data by the providers of electronic communications networks and services focuses on imposing on the providers of electronic communications networks or services the obligation to report, on a regular basis, to the Authority, certain statistical data with a view to elaborating reports, studies, analyses and other such documents in the electronic communications sector, as well as with a view to monitoring and controlling the providers’ compliance with the provisions of the ANCOM issued documents.
