ANCOM Proposes Updating the List of Providers with Significant Power on the Markets for Call Termination on the Public Telephone Networks at a Fixed Location

Taking into consideration the comments received during the consultation period (4 August - 16 September 2011) concerning the decision on identifying the relevant markets in the electronic communications sector corresponding to the services of call termination provided at a fixed location, as well as the market evolution, ANCOM is launching a new public consultation, proposing to extend the number of relevant markets for services of fixed call termination and, respectively, of the number of providers to be designated as having significant market power and to be imposed the corresponding obligations.
Thus, the companies S.C. Telefonet Comm Tech S.R.L., S.C. Telemobil S.A. and S.C. Volio Communications S.R.L. are included in the list of providers with significant power in the market for services of call termination provided at a fixed location. Furthermore, ANCOM proposes to remove S.C. MIBA Telecom 2002 S.R.L. from this list, as a result of the cessation of this company’s capacity as a provider of publicly available telephone services. The other provisions under the decision remain unchanged.
The measures meant to identify, analyse and regulate the relevant markets corresponding to the services of call termination on the public telephone networks at a fixed location are available for consultation on the ANCOM website, here.
