The best offer is the one that best suits your needs. First, you should think why you need an internet connection, taking into account the following:
  • How long do you stay online?
  • What do you want to do by means of your internet connection: simply send/ receive e-mails or also transfer large files?
  • Do you want to watch movies and play online games?
  • Do you want an internet connection you can use wherever you may be (for your telephone or for you laptop)?
  • Do you want to connect several computers to the internet?
  • How many providers offer internet services in your area?
  • How much would you spend on internet services? 
Answer these questions and you will be able to better choose among fixed, mobile or fixed and mobile internet, as well as among various providers.

Before signing a contract, you should check the following:
  • whether the service is available in your area, if you choose a fixed connection; 
  • coverage, if you choose a mobile connection; N.B. Check the coverage maps on the providers’ websites, but you should bear in mind that such maps reflect only outdoor coverage and their indicative values are not guaranteed. Some providers offer the possibility of testing the service for a trial period. Avail yourself of this facility to check the service coverage and quality. If your provider does not offer this trial period, you could use a prepaid card for a period.
  • technical specifications (e.g. is there a guaranteed minimum rate?); 
  • service installation/activation term;
  • trouble notification an remedy term;
  • compensations you are entitled to if the provider breaches the contract;
  • minimum contract period;
  • early termination fees;
  • tariffs: connecting/ installation tariff, monthly flat rate and whether this is bound by the purchase of a certain service package, tariff for using/ renting additional equipments (as the case may be), roaming tariffs;
  • if you choose a mobile connection – whether there are several tariff plans available with included traffic, check the destination of the included traffic (national or restricted to certain websites), the time interval when the respective traffic can be used and whether additional traffic is charged or the rate is reduced after reaching a certain traffic limit;
  • minimum traffic unit charged (e.g. 1 KB, 10 KB, 1 MB etc.);
  • whether and when a provider can block or additionally charge access to certain applications (VoIP, file-sharing etc.); 
  • whether and how several computers can be connected to one connection;
